What do I need for my first appointment?
Please complete a New Client Form and upload your pet’s medical records at least 48 hours prior to your visit. This allows our team to review your pet’s history and prepare accordingly.
If you’re unable to upload records online, you may bring physical copies to the hospital before your scheduled appointment.
If you’re seeing Dr. Kate Steinhacker for an Integrative Medicine consultation, please also complete her Integrative Medicine Questionnaire, available on our Forms section.
Why do you require a deposit for my appointment?
We require a $99 deposit at the time of booking, which covers your pet’s exam fee. This policy helps minimize missed or last-minute cancellations, ensuring we can accommodate pets in urgent need of care.
Deposits are 100% refundable as long as the appointment is canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the following forms of payment at the time of service:

Please note: We do not accept checks.
Do you offer emergency services?
Yes. We offer same-day urgent care visits during business hours. If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please call us immediately at (617) 427-2210.
For after-hours emergencies, we recommend visiting one of the 24/7 emergency hospitals listed on our Emergency Services page.
Where is Boston Animal Hospital – Southampton located?
We are located at 274 Southampton Street, directly across from the South Bay Shopping Center. Look for the large red sign for Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa—our entrance is just inside the doors closest to Southampton Street.
Is parking available at your location?
Yes! We offer free on-site parking at our Southampton Street facility. For your convenience, the lot also includes EV charging stations.
What is your refund policy for deposits?
Deposits are fully refundable if your appointment is canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Missed appointments or last-minute cancellations may result in a $99 fee, and a new deposit will be required to rebook.
What is your late policy?
We kindly ask that you arrive early or on time for your appointment. If you’re running late, please call us at least 15 minutes in advance.
Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule and could be subject to a missed appointment fee.
