Our Rescue Partners

In the United States alone, there are approximately 7.5 million companion animals living in shelters or foster homes. Here at Boston Animal Hospital & Red Dog Pet Resort, we are dedicated to creating a better quality of life for all pets, including those who are still waiting for their ‘fur-ever’ homes. When you adopt a pet through any of these three local rescue organizations, your first exam at Boston Animal Hospital will be on us! Please present your adoption paperwork at the time of your first appointment.

Gifford Cat Shelter was established in 1884 as a home for stray, abandoned, and unwanted cats in need. Today it is the oldest free-roam, no-kill shelter in America, and continues the mission of taking in cats locally and from partner shelters in the south in order to find permanent, loving homes for them. At Gifford Cat Shelter, cats are given the time, space, medical care, and socialization they need in order to allow their true personalities to come through. The unique environment and thorough adoption process ensures that they find the right home to meet their wants and needs. Gifford Cat Shelter helps hundreds of cats each and every year with the help of a large network of volunteers and foster parents. Boston Animal Hospital is an incredible partner in providing medical guidance and care for so many Gifford cats, and we are proud to work with them.
